My Country Escape was purchased by Michelle in 2013, with a vision to create a welcoming boutique where customers could enjoy quality homewares, gifts and women’s fashion alongside genuine old-fashioned customer service.

Located on Canungra’s historic main street, the building has long been part of the town’s retail story, previously home to a haberdashery and later a Retrovision store before becoming My Country Escape.

With the support of loyal customers and the local community, the store has grown into a well recognised Scenic Rim shopping destination, welcoming visitors from Canungra, Tamborine Mountain, the Gold Coast, Brisbane and surrounding regions.

In 2024, the store underwent a thoughtful renovation completed with local builders and trades, creating a refined and inviting space that reflects the My Country Escape vision while maintaining the charm of its main street location.

Today the boutique features a curated collection of quality brands including French Country, Baya Living and Ecoya, alongside candles, kitchenware, rugs, cushions and giftware.

Adding to the experience, Lydia’s Garden florals operate from within the store, offering fresh seasonal bouquets and custom arrangements that complement our homewares and gifting collections.
